Are tile and stone cold?
Ceramic tile and stone are dense and therefore hold their temperature
longer than other floor coverings. When a room is cool, they stay cool;
when a room is warm, they stay warm. If you’re concerned about coldness,
there are electric warming systems that can be installed beneath your floor
to add warmth.
Do you sell to the general public?
Our full-service showroom is available for anyone to view and make
selections; however, we sell only to the trade. We would be happy to send
a copy of your choices to your builder or refer you to a qualified installer.
Do I need an appointment?
Our showroom is staffed at all times. Appointments are not necessary but
are strongly recommended so that we may give you our undivided attention.
What is the best substrate to use to install ceramic tile and stone?
There are several options for underlayment and backerboard that are
suitable for ceramic tile and stone. The best one for your installation
depends on the type of tile or stone, the existing structure, the skill of
the installer, and the budget for your project. We can help you make
these decisions.
What do I use to clean my tile and stone?
Most tile and stone can be cleaned with a mild, neutral cleaner. Heavy dirt
or stubborn stains may need a little extra attention. Call or stop in to see
our experts – we can tell you which cleaners are best suited for your
specific application.
Does Tiles International install tile or stone?
Tiles International is a wholesale distributor of ceramic tile and natural stone.
We do not install tile or stone, but can recommend a qualified installer if you
don’t already have one.
How do I start the selection process?
Put some of your color and style preferences down on paper. Then call to
make an appointment or stop by our showroom. Our color consultants will
guide you through the process of selecting the right tile or stone for your
personality and lifestyle.
Will large tiles make my room look smaller?
Large tile can actually make a small room look bigger. Since there are
fewer grout joints than there would be with small tiles, your floor will look
less busy and the room will appear to be more spacious.
Should I be looking at porcelain tiles?
Porcelain tiles have been around for many years, but are becoming more
popular due to the desire for increased variety and visual effects. They are
also durable and frost proof. Unless you are considering tile for an exterior
application, the choice between porcelain and standard ceramic tile is more
a matter of the color, size, and texture.
